Description
This is a faithful reproduction of the pipe organ in St. Just in Roseland Parish Church, Cornwall. Do not be fooled by its small size - this is a genuine, high quality Virtual Pipe Organ.
The organ can be enjoyed to its fullest extent if 2 manuals, a pedalboard and a swell pedal are attached. However, if you have limited space or a limited budget, every sound of the organ is available using just a single attached MIDI controller keyboard, by virtue of its manual couplers and the 'Auto Pedal' function.
22 speaking stops, a rich selection of couplers and a tremulant on the Swell division are in place in this digital recreation.
Additionally 8 programmable pistons are provided to allow one-touch access to frequently-used registrations, and these may be mapped to Drum Pads on modern MIDI controller keyboards. A high quality reverberation engine is provided within the app, and the reverb controls, overall instrument volume, swell, crescendo and the pistons may all be controlled by knobs or sliders on an attached MIDI controller.
All features of the real organ are reproduced, and the Virtual Pipe Organ allows maximum performance flexibility. An entire church service can be played using just a single MIDI controller, giving an incredibly cost-effective solution for churches on a budget. It can also be played with two manuals, and supports a pedalboard of up to 32-notes, with support for Swell AND Crescendo pedals. A particularly cost-effective solution is to buy an inexpensive, used 'Home Organ' with MIDI output, and use that purely as a controller, with the app generating all the sounds.
By exploiting Wavetable Trajectory Synthesis rather than sample replay, this app is tiny, yet manages to capture all the beauty and the subtle nuances of the organ.
Note that this app does not contain a playable on-screen keyboard, so either attached USB MIDI controllers, or another app capable of generating virtual MIDI are required to play the organ.

General improvements, performance enhancements.
Fixed labelling on Twelfth stop (Twelfth is 3rd harmonic, so is 2 2/3' rather than 2 1/3').
Fix for audio distortion at 48kHz on certain devices.

The default piston registrations have been reprogrammed to ensure there are no CPU overloads on very old devices such as iPad 2 and iPod Touch 5G. Additionally the in-app help system has transition away from html to a readable PDF, which is available as an independent download from the Omenie website.

2019-07-02
This version improves synthesis performance on older devices, specifically those running iOS 9 by supporting multicore synthesis. iPad 2 and 1st generation iPad Mini users can now pull out far more stops and couplers and still get a reliable performance.
A new red LED has been introduced to the user interface to give at-a-glance feedback to swell pedal setting - its brightness reflects how open the swell pedal is. It also flashes briefly if any reverb changes are sent via MIDI to give visual feedback.
The behaviour of the three Division LEDs existing lamps has been changed. They now flash only on NoteOn rather than on any detected MIDI signal, and they now reflect the coupler settings, so if Swell to Great is pulled both Swell and Great will flash if notes are sent to Great.
A couple of bugs have been removed that could have resulted in erroneous triggering of the crescendo functionality when certain notes were played, for certain assignments of MIDI channels.
MIDI control over individual stops has been introduced, geared towards the use of Novation LaunchPad devices.

For this release, after user feedback we have subtlely rebalanced the voices.
AudioBus / IAA has been fixed.
Experimental support for LaunchPad stop control is in place.
‘Foot Controller’ CC 4 added to list of available controller numbers for Swell and Crescendo.
The Piston Program button is now doubled up as a MIDI panic button - touch it, and any hung notes will be cancelled.

2019-02-21
A revised swell pedal system incorporating multiple chained low-pass filters, to give a more authentic frequency response to swell changes.
1.5
2019-02-20
This version now supports MIDI control for all the stops, couplers and the pistons, allowing all performance controls to be mapped onto MIDI and enabling a 100% 'hands off the screen' experience. Stop control and pistons are mapped to Note On commands to support drum pads on keyboards and Novation LaunchPad or similar 'array of buttons' controllers. Additionally explicit control over the sample rate of synthesis is provided to handle potential confusion caused by some modern 48kHz devices.
1.4
2018-11-22
A version fixes a problem with 'audio route changes' accompanied by a sample rate change e.g plugging into Quicktime for Movie Capture, or swapping in an out certain headphones. This was causing either either a drift from concert pitch or audio distortion, both now fixed.

Now better and more realistic than ever!
* A new 'Compensate EQ' setting allows the app to sound even more like the real organ than previously.
* The built-in piston settings have been refined to offer maximum playability on a single manual.
* An 'ORGAN VOLUME' slider within setting allows the overall instrument volume to be increased (if things are too quiet) or backed off if the organ starts to saturate.
Some settings have been rationalized.
The app's icons and splash screens have been updated to reflect the St Just in Roseland Organ's iconic - and huge - green pipes.

2018-11-13
STOPS :
The Gamba 8' and Celeste 8' were erroneously tuned to a 4' pitch, this is now corrected
The Principal 4' has been updated with the correct wavetables
Great Fifteenth and Great Mixture levels now more accurately match the real organ
PISTONS :
Pistons now have numeric legends for easier identification
'Selected piston' is shown brighter for easier identification
Piston behaviour modified slightly to allow faster re-application of a piston to the console
GENERAL :
A volume control for the instrument (reflected in Great CC 7) is exposed in Settings

★★★★★ Makes me so happy — Abi Moldau
Not an organist, but pipe organ is my favorite instrument and I am filled with joy every time I use this. Took very little effort/time to put together with my Casio WK-200 and I was playing the organ. I hooked it up to a nice Bluetooth speaker so of course there’s a delay. But the way the ground rumbles and beauty of the sound makes up for it. Can’t wait to figure out a wired speaker connection. I find the sound to be incredibly beautiful and satisfying. Brings a tear to the eye of this pipe or
★★★★★ It’s very much like a local small town church instrument — K Fortissimo
I wish I had encountered this app and had an iPad sooner! I had some MIDI keyboards and equipment in storage for many years and was inspired to connect them to my iPad when I found this app. Some real world experience with MIDI setup is required, but the instructions included do help (some MIDI controller instructions are much worse). Some 20+ year old MIDI equipment is still compatible with an iPad, it’s best to buy a current production usb to MIDI DIN adapter, however. With my success i was i
★★★★★ Correctly trying to tune it I wanted. — MadRadMasterBuilder
I tried tuning it to make the octaves sound just like most pipe organs sound. Trying to tune it to an exact C to correct the tuning for myself.
★★★★★ Sweet sounds — Old Wildman
It is a very sweet instrument that sounds beautiful and is fun to play, especially with two keyboards. It is very versatile. The user interface and the configuration settings are well thought out. Perfect for use at home. Pay attention to the wide dynamic range - it can get very loud with a lot of stops pulled out. I'm very pleased with this virtual organ.
★★★★★ No onboard keyboard — Jaxziel
Why didn’t include a virtual key board compatibility with AUM or other midi apps, I have no use for this app. Where is the link for the free keyboard
★★★★★ Great pipe organ synth for the price — mark98270
While not as easy to control as other pipe organ synths, it’s a great effort for the price. All of the app settings need to be moved into the app for better control. It still took only 15 minutes to have this synth playing the same MIDI music as our real 3-manual church pipe organ, and sounding similar in audio recordings.
The reverb engine needs significant improvement. To make this instrument sound more like better organ synths, running its output audio through external reverb effects gets i
★★★★★ I Really Wanted This To Work — VN23565
After watching numerous YouTube videos I was very excited about getting this app. I am an organist at 5 different churches and my hope was that this would allow me to produce high quality "pipe organ" music consistently at each site. Another benefit would be the ability to practice at home on the same instrument that I play in the churches. I have a Casio WK7600 which has no issues running Garage Band. But this app, while it does load and run, crashes frequently produces some strange tones that
★★★★★ Good features; realism somewhat lacking — Ioannium
Given all the hype and praise surrounding this app online, I figured it would be hands-down the best app in terms of realism and features for the price. While the features and number of stops are certainly great, and overall the app is definitely worth the price, a good half of the stops fail the realism test.
If you’re looking to use this in a church setting, as I was, where you’re replacing an obviously insufficient instrument like a MIDI keyboard with built-in “church organ” sound, the it’s
★★★★★ Don’t miss out! — Lungimsam
Unbelieveable and rich sound.
So beautiful and immersing.
Fantastic price.
Excellent and prompt, friendly support.
I hook up my MAudio Keystation61 to my iPhone6 via the keyboard’s midi/USB cable into my apple type powered camera adapter and then into the iphone power jack.
I plugged it all in and it plays great. So simple. Go out of your iPhone headphone jack to headphones or a speaker.
So many sounds to experiment with via stops/pistons/settings. Adjust the hall size and reverb to your heart’s
★★★★★ Beautiful sound! — Don O...
Close your eyes, play, and listen. You will be transported into a multi-layered world of sound. This pipe organ app sounds authentic and incredible. It also offers vast amounts of audio and midi customization...if you want it. Even if you don’t, it is”plug-and-play” out of the box. Well done!
